ABOUT THE BRAND
The Islander is an annual publication for an Ontario cottagers' association. The goal of the publication is provide association members with information about the lake and the Association (community events, environmental updates, and association financial reports) as well as to provide a platform where community members can share written content such as family stories, recipies, and historical facts. Several local vendors advertise their products and services in this publication.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The 75-page magazine was created from scratch. A light and accessible tone with bright, saturated imagery and an easily scannable typography system was used to appeal to the broad target audience. Navigation of the publication was facilitated though a clear table of contents and colour coded sections. A unified grid was used to create consistency throughout, while also allowing flexibility to create visual interest within each page spread.
